Whenever a couple finds out they’re pregnant, they immediately make plans to gather their closest relatives and friends to celebrate this exciting event. A party like this is known as a baby shower and is observed in various cultures all over the world.

Baby showers are enjoyable events, with lots of eating, merrymaking, and of course, games! No shower is complete without fun parlor games everybody can participate in and enjoy. These activities break the ice during the party and allow guests to mingle and socialize with each other.

The best baby shower games are those that remind everyone of the difficulties of parenthood (in a funny way, of course). One popular example is the blindfold diapering relay. Also known as the diapering race, this game lets parents “relive” the exhausting diaper-changing duty they all go through when their children are still infants. It’s a fun, nostalgic game everyone will surely laugh at all throughout.

Blindfold diapering can be played by anyone at the party, whether they are mommies or daddies. For this game, you’ll only need the following materials: two life-sized dolls, teddy bears or stuffed toys, blindfolds and several disposable diapers.

Ask the guests to form two teams, each composed of five to seven members. Ask them to line up at one side of the room. At the other side, ready the two dolls and the stack of diapers on the table. When you give the signal, one member from each team slips on the blindfold, and then makes his or her way towards the table. They should try to put a diaper on the doll, as neatly as possible, as if they’re putting it on an actual infant.

When they’re finished, they run back to their teammate and pass the blindfold to him or her. The next team member puts on the blindfold, and does the same, except before placing on a new diaper on the doll, he or she has to remove the previous one placed by his or her teammate. The first team who finishes the obstacles wins the prize.

If you want an exciting and funny game for your baby shower, blindfold diapering is a good choice everyone will surely enjoy! Just make sure that there’s ample space in your venue; if not, the participants might have a difficult time moving around.
