baby shower gamesA baby shower is definitely one of the most enjoyable events in any parent’s life. With this party, the parents can celebrate the arrival of a new family member with family and friends. It’s certainly nice to have this type of party, since it’s always filled with laughter, heartwarming thoughts and lots of gifts for the little angel.

Although baby showers are very enjoyable, they sometimes can become a bit boring. To prevent this from happening, and to liven up the atmosphere, party planners often include games in the program. Usually, the games are childish, to remind the guests of their younger years. Even so, there are some baby shower games that are not very immature, yet allow the guests to be entertained. One very popular example is a guessing game called "The Price Is Right”. If you’re familiar with the television game show, then you have an idea of how this game is played. This party game, however, comes with an obligatory baby shower twist.

baby shower gamesMany baby showers often have "The Price Is Right" game as one of their activities, for several reasons. For one, this game does not require too much energy from the participants. Even elderly guests can play this game. Another reason is it’s fairly easy to organize. You only need several materials for this game, but don’t worry, since you can find them within the party.

Before the party, get at least ten baby items to display to the audience. These items can come in different forms, such as baby lotion, a baby bottle (see The Guide to Baby Bottles), a pack of diapers and baby milk formula. You can get anything, but just remember one very important detail: you must know the price of each item.

Once you already have the individual prices of the items, place them one by one on a platter along with an index card, and pass them around to the guest. Everyone should write his or her name on the paper, and write how much they think the item costs. Repeat this for every item, until everyone is able to write their guesses. When everyone is finished, read out the correct prices. The person who’s able to correctly guess the price of most of the items wins a prize.

"The Price is Right" is a fun option you can have for your baby shower. Your guests will certainly enjoy participating in this baby shower guessing game! For more tips regarding this article, read Baby Shower Ideas.

It'd even be more fun if the host can do a very great Bob Hope imitation! We had a friend once who sounds just like him it was weird! Needless to say, it was one of the best baby showers we ever had.

Sounds like a fun activity, actually. At least I'll be able to see which ones of my friends actually buy their baby needs or just ask their husbands to buy it for them.

Great idea! But wouldn't this game be too easy for moms who shop regularly for baby items? I mean, if the items just consist of diapers and baby bottles, I bet moms can easily guess their prices. One way to make this game more challenging is to put different items together and calculate their total price before the game starts.
