Informing Your Baby Shower Guests: What To Include On The Invite

For any eager parent, the baby shower is definitely one of the most exciting aspects of their life. It is wonderful knowing you’ll be blessed with a beautiful baby, but it’s more fun if you get to celebrate it with the people you cherish. Baby showers are extremely memorable events, filled with lots of fun, merrymaking and stories about maternity and parenthood.
Since one of your closest friends is going to have a baby, it’s only natural for you to throw a party for her. The theme, decorations, program, food and venue are already planned. All you need to do is send out the invitations, but before you do, you must first make sure they contain all the adequate information the guests will need to know about the party.
Many get confused when they’re deciding what to include on the invitations, but it’s a very simple matter. Here is the necessary information you shouldn’t forget to place in a baby shower invitation.

The Theme of the Baby Shower
Themes provide unity and liven up the party atmosphere. They do the same for the invitations. It’s only practical for you to show the party theme on the invitation decoration, to reflect the feeling of the event. For example, if you’re going to have a cartoon theme, find invitations with cartoon characters printed on them. Remember, the invitations are the first glimpse the guests get of the shower. The more interesting the invitation looks, the more likely they will go to the party. (For more ideas on baby themes, see Top Ten baby Shower Theme Ideas)
Party Information
The following details should be placed in the invitation:

- The name of the mom-to-be and the host(s)
- The date and time of the party
- The venue and directions how to get there
- The dress code for the event (casual or formal)
- R.S.V.P. And contact number of the host/mom-to-be
Aside from these, you should also note if the guests need to bring any additional materials. For example, if you’ll be having a diaper raffle, tell them to bring a pack of diaper, to make them eligible for the contest.
Baby Shower Registry Information
The trend is for the parents to be registered at a particular baby store, so the mom will get to choose what gifts she wants to receive for her baby and avoid having duplicates of an item. Put where the parents are registered to the guests know what to get. Even so, put a polite note saying that the guests are not obliged to buy items from the registry, and they can make their own choice as to what gifts to give.
Once you have all these in your invitation, you’re ready to send them out. You can then proceed with the other details of the party, to make sure everything goes smoothly on that special day. If you enjoy learning this article, you’ll surely be delighted to read how to host a party.

hey, if it's just a baby shower composed of the people in my neighborhood, do i need to still send out invites? i mean, we've known this people for like seven years now and we're pretty much close.on 2008-09-28 at 23:34:01
I think an invitation is still recommended even if you know each other for a long time. Think of it as a formality. I mean, if you're throwing a birthday bash for your kid, you still send out invites for his or her friends right? I think the same is done here.
