gamesOne of the most important factors you’ll have to remember when planning a baby shower is the party games. Since it’s a joyous event, it’s only natural for the guests to feel playful during the party. You should prepare games that will allow them to have an exciting time, but still coincide well with the theme of the event.

gamesOne popular game many people play during baby showers is “Whose Water Breaks First” or “My Water Broke”. Women usually enjoy this game, although male guests at the party can also join in the fun. Since there’s no need to do embarrassing things, such as wear cloth diapers or pass around a pacifier, everyone will surely participate in this game.

To play Whose Water Breaks First, you need plastic baby dolls and clear disposable plastic cups. If you don’t have cups available, you can simply get clear plastic bags. Just make sure they’re all the same size so no one cheats. Before the day of the party, place the plastic babies inside the cups or bags, fill them up with water and then let them freeze overnight.

Before you start the activity give a cup or bag to each of your guests. The rule of the game is this: whoever “breaks” or melts their water to get the plastic baby out wins. The guests can try all sorts of method to melt the ice. They can blow hot air on it, thaw it in the sunlight or simply leave it alone on a surface, as long as the cup or plastic bag and the baby stays intact at the end of the game.

To add a fun twist to this game, ask all the participants to sit in a circle. While waiting for their water to “break”, ask them to sing lullabies and kiddie songs to their plastic babies. By doing this, everyone gets a fair chance at winning the game.

For your next baby shower, play Whose Water Breaks First. It’s a fun and entertaining game that everyone will surely remember. You’ll have loads of laughter with this activity!

Heheh looks like an interesting party activity although I would guess it'll take some time. I for one can vouch for ice thawing really really slow unless you put it under running water!
